This 35th Birthday version made by The Bridge Direct in 2015 has been discontinued, but Basic Fun has released a 2020 Classic Reissue Strawberry Shortcake Doll that is identical.

This classic Strawberry Shortcake doll is the 35th Birthday release produced in 2015 to celebrate 35 years of the wonderful world of Strawberry Shortcake. It’s a reproduction of the First Issue Strawberry Shortcake doll from 1980, complete with her same classic hat, dress, tights or leggings, and shoes. She’s one of several Classic Reissue Strawberry Shortcake dolls.

There are three holes in the plastic on the front of the box so you can smell her sweet strawberry scent without removing her from the box.

The box detail includes images of the classic Strawberry Shortcake as well as the classic logo. The large clear panel on the front lets you see the whole doll, so it’s perfect for displaying in the box.

The message on the back of the box reads:

“Strawberry Shortcake, the little girl with big possibilities from childhoods past and present, is celebrating her 35th birthday in 2015! This special edition reproduction of the original doll from 1980 includes all the original details from her hat to shoes – including her berry sweet strawberry scent!”

The back of the box is marked “2015 The Bridge Direct, Inc.”

These classic reissue dolls were only made for a short time before they were discontinued, so they’re sure to become even more collectible in the years to come.
