This classic My Little Pony is the 35th Anniversary Starshine produced in 2018 as part of the Rainbow Collection. She’s a reproduction pony for collectors to celebrate 35 years since the release of the original Rainbow Ponies in Year 2 of the My Little Pony line.
Starshine is a white pegasus with blue eyes, rainbow hair, and has a glittery star for her symbol. She is vanilla scented.
She comes with a purple tail ribbon and a comb and star brush just like the ones from the original line. She also comes with a puffy sticker.
The box detail includes images of the classic My Little Pony line as well as the classic logo. The side of the box shows the other scented 35th Anniversary ponies available and the back features classic My Little Pony artwork that used to appear on the back of packages in the original line.
The large clear panel on the front lets you see the whole pony, so it’s perfect for displaying in the box.
This pony was first made by The Bridge Direct and later by Basic Fun, so there are some slight variations in the box design between the brands. The box by Basic Fun lists the information in both English and French.
Please note: For the Classic Reissue Ponies, the manufacturer didn’t always use glue to attach the pony’s head to its body. This is likely a design choice – many of the issues with G1 pony deterioration are due to their heads being glued on, and collectors often remove their heads to make repairs and customizations. This also allows the pony’s head to turn. But ponies without glue may have a visible gap between the head and body and it’s possible that the head may fall off easily.
This item is sold sealed in its original packaging, so there’s no way for us to check whether the pony’s neck joint is glued or not. If you plan to open the packaging and remove the pony, please be aware that you may wish to use glue to seal the head and neck joint if your pony’s head is not firmly attached.
